This 6-foot-4, 218 pound Texas Longhorns football star from Austin took the honors at the MaxPreps Tour of Champions Ceremony Presented by the Army National Guard.
According to Austin Statesmen, Garrett ranks second in state history in career TDs (136), attempts (1,368) and completions (895).

Football coach Pat Fitzgerald - Northwestern Wildcats - extends contract through the 2015 season
Jim Phillips, Northwestern athletics director announced the new deal in a release on Tuesday.
A former All-American linebacker at Northwestern, Pat Fitzberald has been the Wildcats' head coach since 2006. He joined the coaching staff in 2001.

The 33rd annual Honda-Broderick Cup was awarded on Juny 22nd to Georgia gymnastics standout - Courtney Kupets.
Kupets is the second gymnast to receive the Honda-Broderick Cup in the 33-year history of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Program. The award recognizes not only outstanding athletic achievement but also team contributions, scholastics and community involvement.
The first honoree was Missy Marlowe from Utah in 1992.

John Hopkins extends Dave Pietramala contract for two-years
Dave Pietramala, lacrose coach, signed a two-year contract extension with John Hopkins University today. This extension takes this dynamic duo through the 2015 season.

A 106-30 (.779) record at Homewood.

Hopkins also advanced to the national semifinals in 2002 and 2004 and has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in each of Pietramala's nine seasons.
He passed legendary coach Henry Ciccarone (105 wins from 1975-83).

Washington claims the 2009 National Championship
Kimi Pohlman gave Washington the decisive run in a 3-2 victory for its first NCAA softball championship Tuesday night.
Kimi is making a name for herself in the world of softball. She was named to the Women's College World Series All-Tournament Team!
National player of the year Danielle Lawrie (42-8) shut out the top-seeded Gators (63-5) the rest of the way to clinch the title with a two-game sweep. Danielle also won the Honda Award!
Kimi and Danielle are women on the move in softball. Their incredible accomplishments thus far are only the beginning of their career accomplishments.

Southern Miss wins over Georgia Tech
Russ Chandler Stadium hosted the Southern Miss vs. Georgia Tech NCAA Atlanta Regional baseball tournament. The result - Southern Miss captured the title with a 12-8 win.
The Golden Eagles advance to a super regional for the first time in history. They will face Florida next weekend in a super regional in Gainsville, FL.
The Golden Eagles have determination, after six years of trying, they will have their chance to take the championship.

Texas A&M Angies NCAA Golf Champions
TOLEDO, Ohio - Bronson Burgoon, a senior at Texas A&M and the team's No. 1 player, hit a 125-yard gap wedge from the rough to within three inches of the 18th hole Saturday to win his match and clinch the first NCAA Division I men's golf title for the Aggies!
